Argentina is well known around the world for being a
huge grain silo. Our selected seeds, rich in protein and
nutrients completely free of GMO, heavy metals or
micotoxins can satisfy the standards of the most
demanding clients around the world. The quality of the
corn grain is associated with its physical constitution
determining the texture and hardness, besides its
chemical composition, which defines the nutritional
value and the technological properties. The humus is
also and important factor to obtain high quality crops.
In Argentina we mostly grow flint corn, which is a very
hard type and gets its name from flint, a hard type of
stone. The colors of flint corn range from white to red,
usually the argentine flint corn is orange. Flint corn
is similar to dent corn but higher in protein and easier
to digest. It is also more resistant to insect damage
during storage.
Corn is a summer crop, which is planted in rows and
later harvested with a huge machine called a combine.
The quality of the grain is associated with its physical
constitution, texture and hardness, and also with
its chemical composition, that defines the nutritional
value and the technological properties. The
importance of these characteristics will determine the
destiny of the production.
