Millet
a tiny round seed of a very beautiful yellow color, is of graminaceous
family, and requires loose, even sandy, siliceous soil. The most current
species are common millet and the millet in bunches. This grain requires
little water to grow. It is thus appreciated in the dry areas. Sown in
the spring, the stems of millet can reach 2 meters and its leaves are
long and thin. Millet is harvested in summer, when the stems are yellow.
Millet has a high amino acid profile and rich silicon content. Strengthens the
kidneys, beneficial to stomach, spleen and-pancreas, moistens dryness,
alkalizing, balances over acidic conditions, sweetens breath by
retarding bacterial growth in the mouth.
